For the first day we wanted to have a chance to go to the beach.  Our hotel was only a block away from Carlsbad State beach and we couldn't check in yet, so we headed over. It was great, and the kids waisted no time getting into the cold water. It was low tide, which made for some great finds...three star fish attached to some rocks and lots of mussels.

Christmas was a lot of fun this year.  It came and went so fast! Decorating ginger bread houses has got to be one of our most favorite Christmas traditions.  When our advent calendar told us that it was today's activity the kids were super excited!  They couldn't wait to get started.   This was Ashton's first time decorating a house, last year he mostly watched.  He had a lot of fun! December is here!  It is one of my favorite months.  We have fun doing a little something every day until the 25th. It helps us to get in the spirit of Christmas.  I love all the memories we make. We are at a new school this year, Challenge Charter school.  We couldn't be happier with the success Cole and Ethan are having.  Especially Cole.  His teacher this year absolutely loves him and he loves her.  It is a recipe for success and he is as happy a 4th grader as he could be.  Which after the horrible year we had last year at the other school, I am now a very happy, stress free mom!

We broke out the coats and headed north to Utah. We spent couple of days in St. George, then went were it was super cold...Logan;) The Mountains were so beautiful all covered in snow. On the way back from our camping trip we stopped at the Montezuma Castle N.M.  Another Indian ruin and it was amazingly still intact.  The kids loved to run around on the trails and climb the huge Arizona Sycamore trees.

Lieutenant Kevin James Bodily Kevin was awarded an Air Force scholarship to help us with the dental school debt.  It is a highly competitive award and out of all the branches of the Armed Forces, it is most difficult to get one from the Air Force.  We are very lucky!  Way to go Kev!  It is exciting to think of all the adventures that await us. Okay so it is very hot here in Arizona!  When we first got here it was not as hot as I thought it would be.  It was in the 90's and quite comfortable.  However, the second week was in the 100's, and the third week was well over the 100's.  I think the hardest part is that it really never cools down at night.  I think we are sweating all the time!  I know, gross!This weekend is only in the 90's!

Our last little baby turned one last Saturday! Ashton is so special to us and we are so lucky to have him in our family. I took the kids to the Denver Zoo last Friday. We have had a great Halloween. The kids have their buckets full of candy, and so are their bellies. Last weekend Cole and his flag football team was in the Frederick High school's homecoming parade. It was fun for all of us. Ethan and Isabel were excited to watch and wait for their brother to come and throw them candy. Cole didn't disappoint. He showered us with goodies.It was great. Even Ashton thought it was exciting!

We got back last week from our trip to St. George! We had a lot of fun spending time with family. The first thing we did was go see our Cole in Enterprise. He had been with his Grandma and Grandpa J for two weeks and we were missing him so much. Ethan has started soccer as well. He is in a younger group than his brother Cole. In this age group they learn the fundamentals, they don't play games. We call it "silly soccer" because well...it is.
