National Monument Day Trip

Lincoln Memorial

World War II Memorial

We were able to welcome a bus of veterans from World War II, Vietnam, and Korea.
I feel so lucky to have been able to clap for them and shake their hands as these men and women entered the memorial.  I had tears in my eyes and a full heart to think of the sacrifice they made for my freedom.

We over heard one of the gentlemen say how good it made him feel to have such a reception.

Washington Monument

We stopped at the Washington Monument have a break and a snack. The rain and wind was picking up so we headed to the Smithsonian Castle, Sackler Gallery and National Museum of African Art.

Thomas Jefferson Memorial

This was a big day for the kids with a lot of walking.
They were troopers and only complained about half the time.

How cool! I have never been to these places before, but they would be fun to visit!
